NetSurf 2.9 update 1

Netsurf Browser

Netsurf 2.9 Update - Patch Level 1

This update contains the following changes:

 - Faster redraw of jpg and ico files
( There was an bug in the frontend which lead to checking for
alpha transparency in every pixel of jpg images, which is nonsense - because it's always opaque  ).

 - Improved download dialog ( now you can select "Save as..." )

 - Updated FAQ

New RPM: libpng-1.5.9

FreeMiNT ports

libpng-1.5.9-1.m68kmint.rpm
libpng-1.5.9-1.src.rpm

The 1.5 branch of libpng wasn't working cleanly with FreeMiNT previously, because of some macro issues with GCC and setjmp. This problem isn't there with this new release.

cURL for the Firebee

FireBeeFirst alpha release of cURL ( and libcURL) for the Fireebee.

Note about this port, regarding the news published at http://acp.atari.org:
This is an fully working port, you don't need an proxy. It can directly access everything that the Network card can access. It's not the fault of the port when the network subsystem can't reach the internet via an gateway. However, as a BONUS you can configure cURL to use an proxy within your LAN, which makes it possible to access the internet - altough the networking subsystem of the FireBee doesn't support that.

ColdBoot - Startup Manager for the Firebee.

FireBee- Features:

- Configurable timeout & Folder settings for: PRG,CPX,ACC
- Comfortable & fast console User interface.
- Up to 10 different Sets which can be selected by F1-10 keys.
- Change the startup order of your AUTO folder Programs.

Patching NVDI for the FireBee

FireBee0. Start up your FireBee into FireTOS
1. Install NVDI as usual
2. Remove cops.acc and reinstall XControl for the firebee. (if needed)
3. Rename all NVDI*.SYS Files to NVDI*.SYX (to be sure, it is also possible to keep NVDI8, NVDIH...)
4. Run this patch program:

Netsurf GEM Alpha 0.3

Netsurf BrowserNew maintenance release of NetSurf for FreeMiNT with improved stability & speed:
Alpha 0.3 - 05.06.2011
-----------------------

 - fixed some redraw bug which was happening with some pages using CSS backrounds.
 - Added hotlist ( bookmark ) treeview. No eyecandy at all, but it serves it purpose.
 - Frontend now only redraws areas which where requested, previously
these areas got merged into one big rectangle.
 - Linked with an bug-fixed mintlib - this fixes 90% of reproducable
   crashes caused by some pages.
 - Improved rendering of internal font plotter.
 - Clipping seems to be almost clean now (except when Netsurf dialogs
   overlap the browser window)
 - Some cleanups and bug fixes here and there, and of course, the changes
from the NetSurf core are within this release.
( There where also some rendering improvements within netsurf )
- Improved speed by lowering the amount of interaction with NetSurf during page rendering.

Download executable compiled for m68020-60: ns020.prg.gz (gziped)

Addtional note for the m68020-60 binary:
This binary isn't necessary faster than the m68k release.
At least some rough tests with aranym didn't show up big differences, it even where slower sometimes.
Maybe that is caused by the emulator - so you are invited to test it with the real hardware.
Addtional note for both binaries:
There is a bug within keyboard handling within both releases. Some special chars are not recognized, like shift+up/down and special keys within the adress bar. This only affects usage comfort.
